The Vestition of the six novices took place during the evening prayer at the St. Therese of Child Jesus- Malisho Novitiate Community in Mbeya. Rev. Fr. Elius Modest Malale OCD, the Regional Vicar of the Regional Vicariate of Tanzania, presided over the ceremony of Vestition. Six novices officially began the year of novitiate with this induction ceremony.
It’s worth noting that out of the six novices, three belong to the Regional Vicariate of Tanzania, and the other three belong to the Carmelite Mission of Uganda. The presence of Rev. Bro. Emmanuel Mayinja OCD, the delegate Superior of Uganda, lent lustre to this auspicious event. Further, the presence of members from various Carmelite communities from Tanzania, enriched this special event marking a new stage in the religious life of these six budding Carmelites. New novice master in the person of Rev. Fr. Raymond Santhanaz was installed during this ceremony, by reading the patent.
A short felicitation programme followed solemn, religious rite, congratulating these novices, for taking this courageous step in furthering their vocation in the garden of Carmel. The Vicariate of Tanzania and the Mission of Uganda extend their heartfelt wishes for a successful and enriching year of novitiate to the novices, emphasizing the significance of this important period in their spiritual journey.
