On August 3, 2024, an historic and sacred event took place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Kihonda Parish, Morogoro, with the ordination of Deacons Peter Leopold Ulaya and Michael Christian Bwambogo to the priesthood. The Eucharistic concelebration was Presided by the Right Reverend Lazarus Vitalis Msimbe SDS, Bishop of Morogoro, who bestowed upon them the grace and responsibility of the priestly vocation.
The Eucharistic celebration was concelebrated by 30 priests from various parishes within our communities and of the dioceses where our newly ordained come from. The presence of Parents of the newly ordained Priests, Siblings, relatives, and faithful from the parishes where Carmelites offer their services, not only colored the day but also increased joy to the newly ordained priests and community of faithful at large.
During his homily, Rev. Bishop exhorted the newly ordained priests to be custodians of the faith, by teaching and by their example recalling the role of the Priesthood in the Old and New Testaments.
The liturgical celebration was further enhanced by the uplifting music led by Parish joint choirs. Their harmonious and inspiring renditions of sacred hymns elevated the liturgy and touched the hearts and souls of all who attended, contributing to a deeply spiritual and celebratory atmosphere.
Discalced Carmelite friars of the Vicariate of Tanzania extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to them as they embark on their priestly ministry. May they be guided and strengthened by the grace of God.
