Preparations for the solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel at Kihonda Parish, Morogoro, began with a nine-day Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel went hand in hand with a seminar conducted with the Carmelite Friars on various topics about Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
On the eve of the Vigil of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the evening prayer was conducted by the Postulants. Being the last day of the novena, a large group of faithful were present for the evening prayers and novena.
On the feast day, the Eucharist Celebration was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Elius Modest Malale and concelebrated by Frs. Simon Rupoli, John Gibson, and Peter Chami. In his homily, Rev. Fr. Malale called upon the faithful to embrace the virtues of obedience, humility, and love of the neighbour in constant prayer, following the example of our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. Elijah.
At the end of the Mass, the faithful were distributed by the Scapulars as a gift from our lady to the congregation for their devotion to her.
Happy Feast, Our Lady of Mount Carmel!
