On February 21, 2025, the Vicariate of Tanzania celebrated a significant and joyful occasion as three Carmelite friars, deeply committed to the Lord, made their final profession in the Garden of Carmel. The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Elius Modest Malale, OCD, the Regional Vicar of the Vicariate of Tanzania, and concelebrated by 17 priests from various communities and dioceses where the friars originate.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Malale reminded the newly professed that religious life requires unwavering prayer, sacrifice, and dedication. By embracing these virtues, they will remain faithful to their allegiance to Jesus Christ.
The ceremony, which took place at the Carmelite Scholastic House in Kola, was a momentous occasion for the Vicariate. Among the newly solemnly professed was one friar from the Commissariat of Madagascar. The event was further enriched by the presence of the friars’ parents, siblings, classmates, and friends, as well as religious men and women and faithful representatives from the parishes where the friars originated.
A beautiful choir composed of the Scholastic Brothers enhanced the atmosphere of reverence and joy, elevating the hearts and souls of all those in attendance for this momentous event in the lives of the professed friars.
The Vicariate of Tanzania expresses deep gratitude to Almighty God for the gift of these friars and extends heartfelt congratulations to them for their total commitment to the Lord in the Garden of Carmel.
