My Easter message will be led by the words of Mary Magdalene; “They have taken the Lord out
of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.” (Jn 20:2) These words come from
the account of Mary Magdalene’s visit to the tomb of Jesus after his crucifixion. It reflects the deep
sorrow and confusion of the disciples and followers of Jesus, who were searching for his body
after his death. “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he is risen” (Lk
24:5-6)
The words of Mary Magdalene are a reminder to us of the uncertainty and grief that can accompany
loss, as well as the struggle to find meaning and understanding in difficult times, but they also
serve as a prelude to the joy and hope that come with the resurrection of Jesus.
They encourage us to trust in the presence and power of God, even in moments of confusion and
despair. It reminds us that even when we feel lost and uncertain, God is still at work, bringing
about joy, happiness, new life, and new hopes.
Grief and uncertainty are normal life experiences, and they might push us to look for answers and
purpose. Let us pray that the Risen Lord may revive hope for those who lost it or are in despair.
Easter is a season of joy and celebration, signifying the triumph of life over death. It’s an
opportunity to love, forgive, and have a new beginning. It’s a moment to enjoy God’s love and
promise of eternal life.
Let us celebrate Easter saying, “Bwana Amefufuka kweli kweli Aleluya”
HAPPY EASTER
