It was another day of joy in the vicariate of Tanzania when three deacons were ordained to the priesthood, namely, Deacons Benedict Maziku Thomas, Patrick Bonaventure Soffu and Edgar Charles Mbambura. Sacerdotal Ordination took place on August 30, 2025, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Kihonda, Morogoro. The ordination was conferred by Rt Rev. Lazarus Vitalis Msimbe SDS, the Bishop of Morogoro Diocese.

This joyous moment for the Vicariate and for the church at large was coloured by the presence of Carmelite friars with representatives from all the communities, family members, friends and laity of the event-hosting parish.

In his homily, Rt Rev. Lazarus Msimbe exhorted the newly ordained to remain true to the priesthood call by dedicating their whole life to the service of the People of God. Above all, they should conform their life to Christ.

With the ordination of these three friars, the number of the local ordained Carmelites in the vicariate reaches 21.
