Nestled amidst the beauty of mother nature, Malisho Novitiate community, witnessed unfolding of a radiant day. It was joyful and solemn day as five novices namely Jovinus John Johanes and Melkizedeki Antipas Massawe from the Regional Vicariate of Tanzania and Kiza Geofrey, Byamukama Alex and Godwin Amani from Carmelite Mission of Uganda, professed their first vows.

With hearts filled with joy, they took first baby steps in the Carmelite Order. Rev. Fr. Elius Modest Malale OCD, the Regional Vicar of the Regional Vicariate of Tanzania, presided over the solemn Eucharistic celebration. Carmelite Friars belonging to Regional Vicariate, along with few Religious priests joined the concelebrated Eucharist. Gracing this day by his presence was the Delegate Superior of the Carmelite mission of Uganda, Bro. Emmanuel Majinja OCD.

The presence of the newly professed brothers’ parents, siblings and friends, lent a special hue to the celebrations. Presence of men and women religious, along with Parish council members, lay faithful from Uyole Parish and invited guests, added to the festivities of the day. During a short felicitation programme after the Eucharistic celebration these young religious were congratulated for their courage in saying yes to the Lord and committing themselves to the Carmelite Order, through their First profession. The festivities concluded with an agape meal for all those present.

The Vicariate of Tanzania rejoices along with these budding religious, extending them heartfelt congratulations. As they embark on their journey of religious life, may they find fulfilment and joy. May Our Lady of Mount Carmel guard them always with her maternal love and care. May they bloom in the Garden of Carmel.
