“Then sings my soul, My Savior God, to Thee; how great Thou art, how great Thou art!” were the words of adoration and thanksgiving sung by five newly ordained priests and two ordained deacons joined with discalced Carmelite friars of Our Lady of Mount Carmel of St. Therese of Child Jesus Vicariate of Tanzania.
The hymn came up as a result of the ordination to the diaconate of our two brothers, namely, Bro. Samson Charles Mange and Bro. Datius Prosper Bukuru, and the ordination to the Sacerdotal to our five deacons, namely, Deacons Gasper Mathew Makwangu, Ludovick Masanja, Yohanes Mbago, Adrianus Mushumbus, and John Petro.

The ordinations took place on the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15, 2026, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Kihonda Parish.
On this auspicious day, the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist was presided over by Rt. Rev. Lazarus Vitalis Msimbe, SDS. The Bishop of Morogoro Diocese, consecrated by a Carmelite priest, invited priests from all the corners of the country.
The celebration: The active participation of parents, relatives, siblings, friends, and people of goodwill from the host parish and neighboring parishes added color to the celebration. Parish Chorus set the congregation in motion, attuning the prayers and intercession for the seven elect to ordination.

Following the eucharistic celebration was a short felicitation organized for everyone who came to thank God for the gift of the vocation in the church and in the order of our Lady of Mount Carmel.
The Regional Vicariate of Tanzania remains grateful to the Lord for the gift of five newly ordained priests and two ordained deacons. May they continue to bloom in the garden of Carmel.
