The solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was celebrated in Mateka, in the Archdiocese of Songea in a very grand manner. The whole community of Songea was present with some invited guests. The Eucharistic celebration was presided by Very Rev. Fr. Octavian OSB, the Abbot of Hanga Abbacy and concelebrated by the community and a few priests from around. During the mass the Scapulars and the Rosaries were blessed and distributed to the faithful. The solemnity was preceded by nine days of novena and preaching on different theme each day in the evening. Each day priests were invited from around Songea Religious as well as the Diocesan. We thank Our Lady of Mount Carmel for the successful celebration of this beautiful feast.
