The Annual Retreat of the Secular Carmelites (OCDS) took place from October 12 to 14, 2024, at Dusunyala, Mlandizi, bringing together around 65 members for a spiritually renewal. The retreat was facilitated by Rev. Fr. George Masambu OCD, alongside Rev. Fr. Edwin Mushi, the Provincial Delegate of OCDS in Tanzania.

Over the three days, participants engaged in reflective sessions, discussions, and prayer, creating a moment of renewal and deepening their commitment to the Carmelite vocation. Fr. George’s insightful teachings on “Secular Carmelite, Arise and Shine” and spiritual guidance provided the members with valuable tools for their personal and communal journeys.

On the final day of the retreat, the atmosphere was particularly celebratory as Rev. Fr. Elius Malale the Regional Vicar of the Vicariate of Tanzania joined the group, and shared a reflective session with the members present. During the Eucharistic Celebration which marked the ending of the Annual Retreat, Fr. Elius Malale received the simple promises of Teresa Moyo, and inaugurated the entry of Novitiate year of Yusta Kipeja and the renewal of the Promises of three Members.
