In a momentous event filled with hope, faith, and dedication, Carmelite Pre & Primary School in Malamba Mwili, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, was inaugurated and blessed on September 14, 2023. This new educational institution, run by the Discalced Carmelite Friars of the Vicariate of Tanzania, and belonging to the Karnataka – Goa OCD Province, marks a significant milestone in providing quality education and fostering the values of compassion and knowledge.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Rev Fr. Silvestre Dsouza OCD, the Provincial Superior of the Karnataka – Goa OCD Province, who traveled all the way from India to bless and inaugurate the school. The unveiling of the commemorative plaque was a moment of great significance, with Fr. Praveen Frank OCD, the Regional Vicar of the Vicariate of Tanzania, and Provincial Superior Fr. Silvestre Dsouza OCD jointly performing this honorable task.
During his heartfelt speech, Fr. Silvestre Dsouza OCD, the Provincial Superior, shared a poignant quote from his cousin who had once lived in Africa: “good, better, best, never let it rest until good becomes better and better best.” These inspiring words beautifully captured the spirit and commitment behind Carmelite Pre & Primary School’s mission to provide the best possible education to its students.
